How-to Clean Your Cooked or Live Crabs
Many people ask us how do you clean a crab to use for sauce or for sauteing. Others just simply want to eat their already cooked crab and don't know where to start. We'll here are some instructions on how to clean the crab and get to the delicious meat in four easy steps.

With your thumb or a knife point, pry off apron flap on the under side of crab.

Put thumb on back of top shell fingers on front pry up and forward to remove shell.

With your fingers or a knife remove sections a, b, and a (these are the lungs and innards).

Wash raw crab before cooking to remove debris, if the crab has been cooked washing is optional.
You can cook and serve the crab whole or break in to sections.
Hint! When eating cooked crabs cut body in half lengthwise easy access to meat.
